You get updates tested before they ship, security and uptime monitoring, backups you can restore from, speed checks, and monthly hours for the changes you need.
We take on a limited number of care retainers at a time, and we look after the sites we built first. A site built elsewhere is audited before we take it on, and if it is cheaper to rebuild than to maintain, we say so.

How we work on this

Step 01
Brief: the site, the platform and what it has to survive
You send the brief with the site, the platform it runs on, who built it, what breaks, and what a day of downtime would cost. Access to the hosting and the CMS, under NDA, is what turns the brief into an audit.
Step 02
Review: an audit before any retainer
A lead reads the site, the hosting and the update history and replies within one business day with a yes, a no with a reason, or the questions we need answered. A yes names what has to be fixed before care begins and the hours the site is likely to need.
Step 03
Scope: what is covered, the hours, the response and the fee
A written scope states what is included, the monthly hours, the response time, what counts as an emergency, the reporting and the monthly fee. Work outside it is quoted before it is done.
Step 04
Build: onboarding in the first week, then every month
Monitoring, backups and staging are set up in the first week, the first round of updates ships tested, and from then on the site is watched, updated and reported on monthly by the people who know it.

Do you take every project?
No. We look after the sites we built first, and a site built elsewhere is audited before we take it on. A site that is cheaper to rebuild than to maintain, or one whose hosting and access cannot be put in your name, gets an honest no at the review with the reason and the better route.
Who owns the code?
You do. The hosting, the domain, the CMS, the repository and the backups are in your name from the first week, and we work as a delegated user on them. If the retainer ends, nothing switches off, the backups stay yours, and the handover notes let another team take over the next day.
What does website maintenance include?
Tested updates to the platform and its dependencies, security hardening and monitoring, off-server backups that are restore-tested, uptime and speed checks, a monthly allowance of hours for changes and fixes, and a monthly report. The scope states the hours, the response time and what counts as an emergency.
Do you maintain WordPress sites?
Yes, WordPress and WooCommerce as well as the Next.js and custom platforms we build. WordPress needs more care than most, because plugin updates break things, so every update goes to a staging copy first and the site is checked in both languages before it goes live.
What happens if the site goes down at night?
Monitoring alerts us before you know, and the scope states the response time for an emergency. Because backups are kept off the server and restore-tested, the worst case is a restore rather than a rebuild. The report the next morning says what happened and what we changed so it does not happen again.
