Soft Existence

Soft Existence sells kitchen storage, hand-woven cotton baskets and sculptural scented candles: the everyday objects most brands photograph badly and describe worse. The founder did not want an e-commerce website. She wanted a feeling, and she was specific about it. Calm, composed, editorial. Practical homeware presented like collectible design.

The tension in a brief like that is between mood and money. Editorial restraint can hide the product and slow the sale, so the craft was in keeping the storefront quiet and considered while still making it obvious what to buy and effortless to check out. Warm minimalism carried through the palette, the imagery, the copy and the interface, tuned until the calm never got in the way of the till.

The second half of the job is the half most agencies hand back with the keys. A storefront is a one-off; a shop that keeps earning attention is a publishing schedule. So the store runs an editorial layer alongside the catalogue: a Style and Taste journal answering the questions people actually search in this market, and collections merchandised as atmospheres rather than categories, so a customer arrives at the composed pantry or the evening ritual instead of a filter labelled Storage.

That content is the acquisition engine. Product pages convert people who already know what they want. The journal and the collection stories reach the far larger group who know how they want a room to feel and have no idea that the answer is a powder-coated bread bin, and the whole thing is built to be updated by the founder rather than by us.
